Origanum vulgare 'White Anniversary' (4") | Variegated Oregano (4")
Small green leaves edged in creamy white make a nicely fragrant shade loving groundcover. It is acceptable as a culinary although it is very mild. It is best used fresh, chopped into salads, or whole sprigs garnishing the plate. White to pinkish flowers are mostly inconspicuous, but the leaves are really the attraction here. This is a small growing oregano, only to about 15 inches wide. It is excellent in a semi-shady container. Mix it with lime thyme, golden sage and chervil or curly parsley, other culinary herbs that can take some shade, for a delicious and beautiful herb pot.
Prune back in early spring, and divide every 2 to 3 years.
